Alan Wake Remastered Announced
The long sought-after and awaited remake is finally here for many eagerly waiting fans. The news comes from Sam Lake, creative director at Remedy Entertainment, posting on a long-time fan site of the game, Sudden Stop. In his post, Lake said:
“This is for you. Alan Wake came out over 11 years ago, and through that time, you have told us again and again how much you love the game, the story, the characters, and the lore. And that matters a lot to us. We love this game as well. I love this game. The remaster is coming because of your support for Alan Wake through the years.”
Alan Wake is a popular action-adventure title that released back in 2010. It was a unique blend of story and thriller, with a variation on third-person shooters with a flashlight as your dependable weapon. It was a game that paved the way more of the off-brand supernatural action games, like Control.
Remedy teased last year that it had signed publishing agreements with Epic Games for its next two unannounced titles. The question becomes if the second title will be Alan Wake 2, a new Max Payne, or something entirely different.
The Remaster will include the original game and its two expansions, improved 4K visuals, and director commentary from Sam Lake as well. It’s set to release in Fall 2021 on PC and consoles.
Brandon’s Thoughts: I love seeing beloved titles get the care and treatment they deserve to bring them back to a new generation of consoles and gamers. This was actually one of those games I missed out on that I always told myself I’d get to, but never did. Now I’ll get to play it in gorgeous visuals and truly enjoy the experience it all the more. It’ll be here very soon too, so keep an eye out for it!
