You know what I’m starting to realize as I get older? I’m never going to have the time for gaming that I’d like. I find some days, though I want to play, I don’t have the energy to play. I used to force myself to play in moments like this to try and whittle away the never ending backlog. That, as you can imagine, didn’t work out well and ended up just making me abandon games.
I suppose it’s a simple truth of getting older for me, but doesn’t detract from the fact that it sucks. Who knows, maybe I’ll get back there again some day. Until then, I’m tired…I think it’s time for a nap.
Until next time,
Brandon

Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta Opens to PC and Apple Devices
Microsoft has now finished updating their datacenters to the latest Xbox Series X hardware. With this final push completed, they’ve now moved into the Beta stage of Xbox Cloud Gaming - bringing PC and Apple devices into the fold.
Xbox Cloud Gaming is now open to: Windows 10 PCs, Android devices, and Apple devices via web browsers Edge, Chrome and Safari.
We’re witnessing history in the making for gaming here. Xbox is opening up gaming to a lot of devices. This can bring so many more people into the gaming world and allow gamers to access their content without the constriction of a console. The environment is shifting, and morphing into a more player-centric approach is a wonderful thing to see.
Looking Over the Impact of Super Smash Bros Ultimate
With the upcoming release of Kazuya on the horizon, Sakurai has announced there will be one final smash character to be released later in the year. Smash Bros Ultimate is the most ambitious crossover ever attempted in gaming - spanning 39 different franchises.
The game originally released with 76 characters, with 12 DLC characters added along the way. The sheer amount of characters covering so many different franchises is something unprecedented and amazing to see. According to Sakurai in 2019, this is something we may never see again.
“If Smash Bros. continues in the future, then there’s no way this many fighters and series can be represented again.”
Time will tell if Sakurai’s prediction will hold true, but for now we can rest easy knowing that we’ve seen Sephiroth go toe-to-toe with Mario. Imagine going back in time and telling yourself that in the 90s.
