Very little news to share today. With the big celebrations in the US yesterday, the news took a little break for the day.
There’s some good speedruns coming up today on SGDQ. Bayonetta, Castlevania, Battletoads, Dishonored, Horizon Zero Dawn, Resident Evil 7, and a whole lot more. Check out the schedule for specific times and games.
Until next time,

RimWorld Announces Latest Expansion - Ideology
The second, and latest, paid expansion coming to RimWorld will arrive within the next few weeks, along with a free content update for all players. The DLC, Ideology, will feature a belief system that will influence your colony. Developer Tynan Sylvester explains it best:
“You can play as tree-worshipping cannibals who carve skulls into every piece of furniture, or blind tunnelers who shun the light, or transhumanists obsessed with perfecting the human form using exotic technology. Or be nudists, or drug-stupor mystics, or piratical raiders, or charity-focused givers, or pain-loving animal sacrificers, or dance-party techno ravers, or rustic ranching cowboys, or many many more.”
Beyond the addition of the new core system, which will allow mixing and matching of different beliefs, Ideology will also introduce a quest category that will challenge players to infiltrate ancient structures and steal treasure, allow spacedrone hacking, terminal-worshiping tribal villages, a new archonexus ending, and introduces new creatures: Dryads.
The free content available to all players will be coming in patch 1.3. It will include an animal overhaul, a variety of animal-related tools (pen marker, egg box) and a new straw matting floor which will produce less filth. It will also bring a revamp of the goodwill system, a new raid type: breaching, various UI and quality of life improvements, beards for pawns, improved character rending and more.
Patch 1.3 is currently in Steam beta if you want to try it early. Ideology and 1.3 are expected to release “in about two weeks”, though Ludeon Studios did confirm this could change.
If you’re a fan of RimWorld, or have been curious about it for awhile, it seems to be a great time to jump in - especially with all the animal updates and, of course, addition of beards for your colonists. You can check out the full announcement on their Steam page.
Here are the games being added today to PlayStation Now for July:
Red Dead Redemption 2 - This game should need little introduction. A prequel to the first Red Dead game, it features a different protagonist as the main character and his adventures within the Van der Linde gang. It’s essentially GTA with cowboys. It will be available until November 1, 2021.
Nioh 2 - This souls-like game follows your path as a half-human, half-Yokai samurai fighting your way through many demons. Just like a Souls game, you’ll get plenty of challenge and the joys of dying. A lot. A whole lot.
Moving Out - This a cute solo/co-op game that is similar to Overcooked - zany with fast-paced gameplay. Instead of cooking however, you’re movers who are just… Just awful at moving.
God of War - The game that turned the entire series on its head and blew so many out of the water should need no introduction. If you’ve never played it, and you have even a mild interest in Norse mythology or action-adventure games, then go play it. Truly a defining game on the PlayStation.
Judgement - Set in the Yakuza universe, the game circles more around a detective-sleuthing style of gameplay. Eurogamer had this to say, “Is this Phoenix Wright mixed in with Yakuza? Sort of.” It will be available until October 4, 2021.
Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - The official game for the Olympics, it includes more than 15 Olympic Game events. You can expect from this what you’d normally expect from these series.
Nascar Heat 5 - Official Nascar game. Critics seem pretty ‘meh’ on the game, but hey, the advantage of Now is to try out these kinds of games and see if you like it or not!
