✏️ From the Author
I’m still working on getting my sleep schedule decent, but I’ve just got to share that I am in such a good place mentally. It’s so relieving to be in such a clear and positive headspace! I’m starting to actually fight that voice in the back of my head that always tells me I’m not enough, instead of just listening to it. It’s still there, but I’m at least trying to override it with positivity! I feel like I’m finally at the starting line to get my life on track and I simply couldn’t be more ecstatic about it - better late than never!
We’re at the point in the year where a lot of games are going to be releasing, so make sure you start making a list of what you’re wanting to play! I’m always really bad about just trying to memorize what I’m excited for, and then I end up missing out on half the stuff I wanted to play. I’d like to make a gorgeous spreadsheet with all the games organized in beautiful fashion, but knowing me, it’s just going to end up as a list of names in my phones notes. Either way, it’ll be better than trying to memorize it all.
Until next time,
Brandon
Upcoming Games for September
There’s plenty of games coming up for the month of the September. Below is a curated list, but I certainly encourage you look at a full list for any games that you may be excited for. So many games will be releasing from now until the end of the year, so make sure to keep a list of what you’re wanting to play at some point.
Let’s cover some of the games that’ll be coming out this month:
Life is Strange: True Colors (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia, PC) – September 10 - The latest addition to the series introduces a new character with a physic ability of empathy.
NBA 2K22 (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC) – September 10 - It’s an NBA game, you know what to expect!
Tales of Arise (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC) – September 10 - The latest ‘Tales of’ RPG looks like it’ll be a contender for one of the best in the series.
WarioWare: Get It Together! (Switch) – September 10 - WarioWare coming out of left field, should be interesting with its series of mini games.
Deathloop (PlayStation 5, PC) – September 14 - The preview gameplay critics got to experience certainly makes this look promising. Check out the previous newsletter covering those reviews!
Kena: Bridge of Spirits (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC) – September 21 - This adventure action game looks very fun and cute. I’m REALLY excited for this!
Death Stranding Director's Cut (PlayStation 5) – September 24 - Death Stranding has been selling excellently. No better time to get into the game than with this cut, if you’ve been intrigued by it but never picked it up.
Imposter Factory (PC) – September 30 - Seems like an engaging story and gameplay. Love the style of it.
Rogue Lords (PC) – September 30 - A turn-based roguelike that Adrian actually played and says that it’s ‘awesome’. You can watch his playthrough on YouTube of it!
Surviving Mars Below & Beyond Expansion
The city-building sim is releasing their latest premium expansion, Below & Beyond, on September 7th. The expansion will be the second one for the game, the first arriving back in 2019.
The latest DLC will feature exploring the underground world of Mars, where you’ll create your own underwebbing network of tunnels and inhabit the underground with bases (of both normal and underground type). As to be expected, the DLC will come with new building and resources as you expand yourself below the surface of Mars.
The DLC will also add rocket-propelled buildings which can be used to send colonists on to passing asteroids. Once on an asteroid, they can mine it for resources. The fun of this aspect is the asteroid will continue on its path, so its entirely possible you send a building and people on a one-way trip that could quickly prove nonbeneficial.

🔦 Indie Spotlight
Cursed To Golf is a "golf like" and a roguelite | Rock Paper Shotgun
This golf game is a 2D puzzler where you have to get your golf ball into the hole before the maximum amount of strokes. If you’re unable to make it on a certain hole, then they game will put you back to the start - hence the roguelite. Seems like a fun concept!
🔦 Indie Spotlight
Lost In Random is fast, funny and has great combat - once you get past all the Tim Burton cartoonery | Rock Paper Shotgun
This is a game I’m excited to play! The writing has a lot of humor in it, thanks to Ryan North being credited for all dialogue, and the characters and style all look really great. Definitely something to put on a to-play list if you’re of a fan of action-adventures.
