TGO Daily | September 28, 2020 | Full News Roundup
Hello everyone! I hope you had a tremendous weekend.
Usually for the Monday newsletter I mush together the top stories from the previous 3 days. Unfortunately, today there aren’t any huge stories that deserve their own section. So today I’m going to list them all out for you, with a quick blurb about why you might want to read more.
I hope that works for you, and this might even be a format I return to in the future if life gets too busy and I can’t write a full newsletter :) Let me know if this is still helpful for you!
The Big Stories
Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires announced. It will arrive on most consoles and PC in early 2021. “Empires” is a sub-series that brings more strategy to Dynasty Warriors
Mafia: Definitive Edition released. It’s been fairly well received, though there are some critics that couldn’t get past the rough parts.
Rocket League hits 1 million concurrent players for the first time. Great achievement for Psyonix now that the game is free to play.
Xbox One streaming to mobile arriving on iOS, already in beta on Android. Different from xCloud, which was denied from iOS, because it’s not streaming from the cloud.
The Minor Stories
The Last Of Us getting a board game, vinyl soundtrack, and other memorabilia. The board game is getting made by the company who did tabletop games for Bloodborne and God of War.
Animal Crossing getting a Halloween update. Candy, costumes, pumpkins, and spookyness. Everything you expect for a game like this. Seems like the next major update is late November.
DontNod is making a new IP at a Montreal studio. Notably, this is the team that made Life Is Strange, which will go on break from their lineup.
There is now a deep dive into the combat for Godfall, if that’s your thing.
