TGO Daily | September 14, 2020 | PS5 Event Upcoming
With Xbox’s unintentional announcement of a new console, and preorders opening up this week, Playstation has been put on the hotseat. How are they going to match the very strong game that Xbox has put forward?
Today I’m showing you three games that you may not have heard of, or haven’t thought about in a while. On slow news days, I figure it’s nice to broaden your horizons a little bit :)
Until tomorrow,
Adrian

PS5 event arriving this Wednesday
With all the recent news of the next-gen Xbox consoles, Sony is going to be holding a Playstation 5 showcase this upcoming Wednesday. At this point they have only advertised that games will be shown, but the last time they did that, they revealed the PS5. So the expectation has been set that details will come of pricing and a release date.
The Unfinished Swan now available on PC and iOS
The Unfinished Swan is the debut title of developer Giant Sparrow, most well known for 2017’s What Remains of Edith Finch. Up until Thursday it was exclusive to Playstation platforms, but it has now been released for PC and iOS.
The game takes place in an all-white landscape, which you explore by splattering paint around. Here’s a description:
“As Monroe, a 10-year-old orphan, you'll follow a swan that's stepped out of an unfinished painting and wandered off into a surreal, storybook-inspired kingdom. Each chapter brings surprises, new ways to explore the world, a host of bizarre (and sometimes dangerous) creatures, and encounters with the eccentric king who built this empire.”
Giant Sparrow got a lot of respect after the success of Edith Finch, and if you enjoyed that game it looks like this would be a good one to follow up on. It’s around $15 USD on Steam, and $5 on mobile.
Disgaea 4 Complete+ now available on PC
Yet another Playstation exclusive is now available on PC: Disgaea 4 Complete+ — originally released on the PS3 in 2011.
The trailer above will give you a good idea of what the game, and the series overall, is like. It has a very over-the-top presentation, from its humourous dialogue, to the fact that you can level-up all the way to 9,999.
Every piece of content tied to Disgaea 4 in the past is included in this version, including 30 unlockable characters, extra story content, and a map editor. There are some online features that are planned for a post-launch release, such as the ability to share edited maps with others, create crews of pirates, and battle in tournaments.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits delayed to Q1 2021
One of the standout games to be showcased in the last 6 months is the debut title of Ember Lab, Kena: Bridge of Spirits. While it was previously slated for a 2020 release, it has now been pushed to quarter 1 of 2021.
While there honestly isn’t much else to say about the delay, I did want to bring this game onto your radar. Ember Lab is most well known for being an animation studio, which is evident in the work they’ve done promoting the game. If you haven’t yet make sure you check out the trailer at some point — it’s absolutely beautiful.
