I got to spend some time this weekend with my girlfriend, my bestie and her husband. Her husband takes absolutely stunning wildlife photos as a hobby, and we three tagged along to watch him work his magic.
Here’s the only problem with the whole escapade: I absolutely hate spiders. They freak me out so much. His favorite wildlife to photograph? Yep, spiders.
They made me touch an incredibly strong web that felt like a fishing line, which was cool, but attached to the web was a 17-foot tall spider that looked like it hadn’t missed a day at the gym in at least a decade. Of course, the three of them will contest that’s over-exaggeration. Maybe they’re right, though. Maybe it was only 15-feet tall…
Until next time,
Brandon
Witcher 3 Next-Gen Release Coming with DLC Items
CD Projekt Red confirmed Friday that the next-gen release of The Witcher 3 will come with more than just the stereotypical visual quality and loading time updates we’ve come to expect in next-gen ports. Along with those updates, there will also be an update as free DLC inspired by the Witcher Netflix series.
CDPR has not yet confirmed what we’ll see in the update. The only hint we have is the latest cover art, saying, “extra items inspired by the Netflix series”. The update will be available on all platforms — it’s not just limited to next-gen consoles.
We can probably expect more info on the DLC once they announce the official release date for the ports. Season 2 of the Netflix series will release on December 17th and an animated prequel, titled “Nightmare of the Wolf”, will release on August 23rd.
Square Enix Hopes to Show Final Fantasy 16 at Tokyo Game Show
Naoki Yoshida (producer for Final Fantasy 16) confirmed, during a Japanese Final Fantasy 14 livestream, that Square Enix is hoping to show the latest title in the series at the Tokyo Game Show this year (September 30 - October 3).
Yoshida went on to clarify that they really want to show the game during the show, but the team will likely not be able to meet that deadline.
“We really want to show something for Tokyo Game Show 2021, but we probably can’t make that deadline… we definitely want to show it, but isn’t it better if when we do, you’re able to play it right after? I personally don’t like it when small bits of info is release to string people along. I talked about this with the team and director Takai-san. We want to reveal something where people will say, ‘I want to play it now! Release it now!’ And we can reply, ‘sure, here you go!’ ”
He went on to say that development is going well and that work on FF16’s scenario was now complete, with the audio voice recording being nearly finished.
Summer Games Done Quick Comes to a Close
Over the weekend Summer Games Done Quick officially came to a close after 7 days of events. SGDQ ended up raising $2.8 million USD for their charity, Doctors Without Borders.
If you missed any of the many, many, games at SGDQ, the amazing Anna Marie Privitere (also known as ‘Paws’ on the TGO Discord) curated a list of her favorite runs from the event. I highly recommend you check out her list, as there are some crazy runs on it!
One of my personal favorites was the Super Mario 64 Blindfold run. It never ceases to amaze me watching people do these blindfolded. The sheer skill and practice alone is incredible. You can check out that video below:

Bloober Team says Silent Hill "leak" is based on "outdated or incomplete" information. The CMO of Bloober Team says the leak is outdated, but does not explicitly say they’re not working on a new title in the series. For now, it’s all still speculation.
PS5 timed console exclusive Deathloop won't hit Xbox until at least September 2022.
There's a Final Fantasy 14 cookbook coming out later this year. The book is 192 pages and has over 70 recipes in it.

This is a really great article talking about a specific game that was demoed back in 2005 at E3. It generated a lot of buzz, but never went anywhere. It makes for a great behind-the-scenes look at the process of making a game and how, sometimes, not making it is the better choice.
