Yo! Adrian here. Brandon is off on a board game night, so I get to take over the newsletter today :)
Long time no talk! I will say, I’ve missed writing these a little bit. Just a little. I’ve always been more gifted in the talking department than the writing department. Regardless, I think its nice to pop my head in every now and then.
I hope you have been well. Let’s talk about some video games!

📰In The News
Horizon Forbidden West Lacks Free Upgrade
PlayStation has confirmed that owners of the standard edition of Horizon Forbidden West on the PlayStation 4 will be ineligible to receive a free copy of the game on the PlayStation 5. Only those with a “Digital Deluxe Edition” version will get both versions, which is $80 USD.
Sony’s track record on this is shaky. They gave free upgrades for Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Sack Boy: A Big Adventure. On the other hand, Ghost of Tsushima was a paid upgrade (though, that version had additional content to justify the $30 price hike).
Horizon Forbidden West launches in February 2022.
Adrian’s Thoughts: Asking players to shell out more money for a different version of the same game won’t be received well. What was once an industry standard between console generations is now generally shunned in the community, and companies like Microsoft have done a lot of PR to emphasize programs like Xbox Smart Delivery.
Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain
Nintendo has announced the newest entry in the Big Brain Academy series, and the first for the Nintendo Switch. This franchise features a series of puzzle mini-games, and is often compared to the Brain Age series. It releases on December 3rd for $30 USD.
As indicated by the title it has a large focus on competitive multiplayer, which supports up to 4 local players. Interestingly, it also allows individual difficulty levels, allowing for players of differing skill to be on even ground.
Single-player options are also available. Players can play against ghosts of their friends or randoms across the world.
Sir, You Are Being Hunted Remastered!
Dutch porting studio Den of Thieves have revealed that they are releasing Sir, You Are Being Hunted: Reinvented Edition in February 2022 on PC and Switch. The original game released in 2014 was a survival stealth game with a fair bit of jank — it had mixed reviews, but did get some momentum at the time.
Here are the Steam description bullet points of what the remaster will bring:
Fully revamped with contemporary technologies and cutting-edge modern game engine.
All new, optional gameplay-changing perk system.
Modernised control scheme and quality of life options.
Revamped audio, graphical enhancements, and UI.
Not only that, but the original game also recently got significant changes in the 1.5 update. They restored the multiplayer to be fully functional, and fixed many bugs in the single-player mode.
