Pac-Man 99
Nintendo is adding Pac-Man 99, a new niche battle royale, as a free game to their Switch Online service today. Last week, Nintendo removed the free-to-play Super Mario 35, which was Super Mario Bros but in battle royale format. Of course, Tetris 99 is also a popular title which has been around since early 2019.
As you might guess, 99 people all play Pac-Man at the same time until only one player is left. Every ghost that is eaten then gets sent to other player’s boards as obstacles. As with the other games, it requires a Switch Online subscription to play, and there will be purchasable themes available.
Misc. Game Updates
Crysis Remastered has got a current-generation update. The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 should run the game at 60fps with 1440p now, along with ray-tracing options. There’s also a new level added which was previously too intensive.
Street Fighter V getting DLC characters Rose, Oro, and Akira Kazama. All the link really gives you is gameplay footage.
Atari splitting its company into two — one gaming division and one blockchain division. Gaming division will focus mostly on mobile games.

This newsletter is a companion/alternative to a mini-podcast I produce. Most people listenon Amazon Alexa devices — but it’s also available on all podcast hosts (that is also the archive of all episodes). It’s also on Google Home, but I don’t have a link for that one!
