Hey gang!
I recently started playing MLB The Show ‘21 as it came out for the Game Pass on day one. I was pretty excited to play it because baseball is probably my favourite sport (which says something, I’m not much of sports fan). Unfortunately my aging Xbox One runs the game at like 15 FPS, so it’s hard to enjoy the game to its fullest. I also recently played NHL 21, and I think I just enjoy the faster pace of that game more? Baseball seems more fun to play in real life than through a video game.
Oh well. I guess I’ll just have to buy a Series X then……………………
Until tomorrow,
Adrian

Great Ace Attorney
Capcom have announced that they will be releasing an English version of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, which will be a bundle of the first two games. These are Ace Attorney games that are set in the 19th century, with the protagonist being an ancestor to Phoenix Wright. The games were previously only released in Japan.
For the first time, there will also be a new feature which allows the game to automatically be played for you. Essentially, instead of having to interact with the game, you can watch it like its a movie, with all the challenges being eliminated.
I was really happy to see this announcement — I know a lot of people have been asking for this port for a long time, and the more success that can head towards the Ace Attorney series the better. I’ve heard that these are great entries in the series as well. Feel free to pick it up on July 27th for the Switch, PS4, or Steam.
Xbox Live & Free-To-Play
Today, 50 free-to-play multiplayer games became available to play on Xbox without the need for an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Up until now, people needed to pay a monthly subscription in order to access games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone. Xbox were the last holdouts on that, with PlayStation and Nintendo both making the move earlier. You may remember that they made this decision after reversing on a price hike to Gold that got a lot of backlash.
Despite the list of games only being 50, it is essentially every game that you will care about playing multiplayer for. They’ve also unlocked “Looking for Group” and party chat for those games.
Call of Duty Stats
Activision is celebrating two major milestones for their Call of Duty franchise today.
The first is that Call of Duty: Warzone has surpassed 100 million players. Considering it only released about one year ago, that’s a major achievement.
The other is that the entire Call of Duty franchise has now sold over 400 million copies, since the first title in 2003. This will make it the third best selling video game franchise of all time (behind Mario and Tetris), according to the data we have available. Call of Duty continues to be a major force in the industry, particularly in the United States, and there are no signs of it slowing down.
Tales of Arise
The newest entry in the Tales series, Tales of Arise, has been announced for a September 10 release date on both generations of Xbox and PlayStation, as well as PC. The current-gen versions of the game are a new announcement, and will have all the extra bits and bobs you would look for in a modern game.
Arise is the 17th entry in the franchise, which first began in 1995. You can check out the new trailer here.
